Win the Center Lovell Inn!
Are you ready for a job change? If you're willing to move to Maine to operate a historic bed and breakfast, you'll find one on 12 acres that has scenic views of Kezar Lake and the White Mountains. It is called the Center Lovell Inn, built in 1805, and it could be your dream come true. All you need to do is send $125, a postage stamp, and the best 200-word essay of why you should own it.
In 1993, then-owners of the Inn, Bil and Susie Mosca, held an essay contest (entry fee: $100) to find a successor. The winner was a lady named Janice Sage, who now at 68, is ready to retire. And she's planning her own essay contest to find the Inn's new owner.
Sage hopes to receive at least 7500 entries, which would earn her the $900,000 that local real estate agents suggested she list the Inn for.
To apply, you must be 18 years of age and older, and must send a 200-or-less-word essay on the topic of why you're the right fit, as well as a check for $125, to the Center Lovell Inn postmarked by May 26 and received by May 30. They will narrow down the applicants to the top 20 and then two anonymous judges will pick the new owner of the Inn. They hope to announce a successor on June 6.
Here's a message from Sage below:
Note: Please refrain from any contact with the owner during the contest as it could make your entry invalid.
Have you ever dreamed of owning a Country Inn and restaurant in New England?
Well, here is your chance! Located in southwestern Maine overlooking the White Mountains is The Center Lovell Inn and Restaurant. In 1993, the former owner ran an essay contest and I was the winner. After 22 successful years, it is time for me to retire. Now, I would like to fulfill someone else’s dream.
The Inn was built in 1805, the barn on 1795 and the adjacent guest house in 1985. There are 7 guest units, two dining rooms, and a screened-in wrap-around porch overlooking the mountains, all on 12+- acres.
This area attracts guests from around the world for biking, hiking, skiing and all kinds of boating on beautiful Kezar Lake (across the street) and the many other lakes in this “Lake District” of Maine. Visit www.centerlovellinn.com for more details on the Inn and area.
You can’t win if you don’t enter. Don’t delay, enter today! Good luck.
