William “Bill” Bowers was born February 6, 1953 in Alva, Oklahoma to William and Viva Barnes Bowers and died on December 16, 2020 in Elk City, Oklahoma.
He grew up in the Waynoka area and graduated from Waynoka High School. He worked in the oilfield before moving to Enid. Bill worked at Safeway, farmed and as a grader for Garfield County District 3. He married Helen in 1981. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved spending time with his two youngest grandsons, Peyton and Landon.
Bill was preceded in death by his father and sister, Shirley Bowers.
Bill is survived by his wife, Helen; children, Steve Kurtz, Cindy (Bryan) Bay, Kristen Craig, Jennifer Bowers, Derick (Alyssa) Bowers; 12 grandchildren, one great granddaughter; mother, Viva Bowers; brother, Mike Bowers; sisters, Connie Schroeder, Beverly Wallace, Verna Judd, Cindy McCullum; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Per Bill’s request, there will be no funeral and cremation has taken place.
