Verda Mae Wedel was born May 8, 1927 in Lahoma, Oklahoma to William J. and Lena (nee Johnson) Pereboom. Verda passed away on January 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings: Erwin, Everett, Orville (“Bud”), Evelyn, Viola, Lucille, and Ruth.
Verda graduated from Enid High School She was married to Arnold Ray Wedel in 1947 until his death in 1999. She is survived by her two sons, David, and Steven, one grandson, Evan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was raised in the Lutheran Church and was confirmed at St. Paul’s in Enid. She later became a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Enid.
Verda worked at Western Electric in OKC, and then at AT&T until her retirement. She enjoyed church, family, friends, and traveling.
Due to the pandemic, there will be no memorial service at this time. She will be interred in the Memorial Park Cemetery by Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
