ENID, OK - United Way Campaign Co-Chair, Kyle Williams announced today at the United Way Annual Meeting and Awards a $200,000 special fund for matching new dollars for the 2020 – 2021 United Way of NW OK campaign. The campaign is pushing hard to match those dollars and has set a target date of Wednesday, September 30, 2020 to match those funds.
“We are thrilled to unveil a “Campaign Challenge” that we hope will generate excitement and energy for the campaign this year. We have gathered a few area donors who have stepped up to help us reach our overall goal by making this $200,000 challenge available to the region,” said Alex Williams, COO of Jiffy Trip.
“All new donations this year will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $200,000 to help us exceed our goal of $800,000,” stated Kyle Williams, President of Jiffy Trip.
Dan Schiedel, CEO of United Way of NW OK said, “Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, United Way’s partner agencies have been hard hit and have expended a number of their resources to help folks in our region. We believe that this is just the beginning as we continue to see the on-going affects this virus is having on citizens, businesses and our economy.”
Dollars raised this year will help more people who are homeless, hungry, out of work and those struggling to raise a family. The United Way assesses community needs and prioritizes help to confront the struggles of our region and its communities. United Way of Northwest Oklahoma fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every community.
The United Way of Northwest Oklahoma’s campaign supports 15 member agencies: Booker T. Washington Center, Cimarron Council Boy Scouts, American Red Cross, Catholic Charities, Community Development Support Association (CDSA), Denny Price Family YMCA, Garfield County Child Advocacy Council, Hedges Speech and Hearing, Human Services Alliance of Greater Enid, Girl Scouts of Western Oklahoma, Loaves & Fishes of NW OK, RSVP, The Salvation Army, YWCA of Enid, and Youth and Family Services of North Central Oklahoma. Funds also support other local social and human services projects through discretionary giving.
