The funeral service for Trena Martin, age 92, will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel, with Gordon Jantz officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday evening 6:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Trena was born to Aurelius and Maria (Valdez) Vasquez on August 28, 1924, in Lahoma, and passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, in Enid.
Trena grew up in Enid, and graduated from Enid High School in 1943. She worked at Enid Army Airfield as women’s repair team. On October 29, 1945, she married Rudolph Amel Martin in Arkansas City, Kansas. They resided in several states before returning to Enid in 1965. Trena worked at Sears for eighteen years. She was a member of North Garland Church of Christ. Trena was a Sunday School teacher in the past. She also volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital for twelve years.
Trena is survived by her daughter Teresa Baker and husband Bill, of Enid; four grandchildren, Tera, John, Jenny and Andrea; and seven great-grandchildren, nephew, Gary, and niece, Mary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, and five brothers.
