ENID, OK — Get your tickets now to celebrate “A Night Among the Stars” as Gaslight’s Charlie Awards will honor the best of the best of our 51st season this Saturday in Hollywood style and decadence.

The evening will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a red carpet photo-op extravaganza by Levi Sanders in the lobby outside the Central National Bank Center Grand Ballroom.

Hosts Leslie Newell and Evan Chermack, both longtime Gaslight performers, will kick off the awards ceremony at 8. Entertainment will be provided by this season’s shows, “Young Frankenstein,” “Next to Normal” and “Picasso at the Lapin Agile.”

In addition, the night will feature a silent auction with several items for bidding, including a photo session with award-winning, Enid-based photographer Dawn Muncy; a pre-show party in the Turpin at Gaslight planned by Bobbi and Brice Donaldson; and several 50th anniversary season signs ready to hang in your home.

Hors d’oeuvres provided by the CNB Center and cake pops made by Monica Rorick, Queen of Cakes, will be available, and a cash bar will be open — featuring this year’s signature drink, “Malice in Hollywood No. 1,” a bourbon cocktail created in the 1940s by Hollywood’s famous gossip columnist Hedda Hopper.

The theatre will also announce recipients of the four special Charlie awards: the Ron O’Neal Friend of the Theatre, the Gene Riggs Technical, the “Toddy” and the Gene Nash Scholarship awards.

The Charlie Awards were named in honor of Charles Norman Duff, a mainstay of Enid Community Theatre from its inception until his death in 1971.
