The graveside service for Theodora E. Denning will be 2:00pm, Sunday, April 19, 2019 in Ames Cemetery. Due to the current gathering restrictions, please be prepared to stay in your vehicle. Services are under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Theodora was born March 15, 1922 in Isabella, OK to Charles and Amy Elizabeth (Kochenower) Marlatt and passed away April 15, 2020 in Enid. She was one of twelve children and joined two brothers in being triplets.

Theodora attended Ringwood Schools and graduated from Ringwood High School with the class of 1941. After graduation, she enlisted in the WAVES through the United States Navy. She served her country faithfully in the intelligence division of Philadelphia, PA. Her job required her to have secret clearance, a job of which she was extremely proud.

Upon completion of her time in the Navy, Theodora returned to Ringwood. On August 27, 1951, she married Marvin L. Denning in Fairview, OK. The couple made their home on a farm south of Ringwood.

She was a longtime member of Ringwood Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for several years. In 1972, they moved to Enid where she became a member of Cedar Ridge Wesleyan and taught Sunday school there. Most recently, she was a member of Enid Maine Church of the Nazarene and continued to teach Sunday school there.

Theodora was an avid reader, loved doing crossword puzzles but her true joy came in teaching others at church. She taught Sunday school for over 50 years before retiring at age 87.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband, and all eleven siblings, Theodora is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Memorials can be given through Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home to Enid Maine Church of the Nazarene.
