ENID, OK - Enid Event Company is hosting The Great Hullabaloo - a Festival for Whippersnappers on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the 200 block of East Maple in Enid.
"This is a festival completely geared toward kids," said Tammy Wilson, owner of Enid Event Company. "Everyone comments that we need more things for kids to do and we have so many other things that kids get dragged to with their parents, so it's their turn."
The Enid Police Department, the Enid Fire Department, the Garfield County Sheriff's Office, and the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center will all be at the festival. In addition, there will be "unicorn" rides, face painting, various entertainers, and kid friendly food trucks and vendors with wares for children.
"We are working to bring entertainers from the Inspyral Circus to the event," Wilson said."They do a lot of interactive crowd activities such as stilt walking, juggling - theater style entertainment without the use of animals - and they are also beautiful to look at. They have a platform of raising mental health awareness and teach about things such as self esteem and the importance of not giving up while they're entertaining. There is a cost involved in getting them here and we are looking for sponsors to help with that part. If businesses or organizations want to do a $100 sponsorship, we will run social media ads, they can hang their banner at the event or have a vendor table there, and we'll give them tickets to the event. We're just about half way to what we need to get them here."
Vendor spaces are available for anyone with items that are geared toward children. Spaces are $50. The organizers are also looking for any other businesses or organizations that might have an activity or game to the add to the event. Admission for the festival is $3 per child, grown ups get in free. All adults must be accompanied by a child.
