After all 40 teams complete their activities for the day, the party will move to the Enid Event Center, 302 S Grand, for a ticketed reception and dinner. The event center floor will be turned into a drive-in movie theatre with the help of the Enid Antique Auto Club, who will be providing 50 vintage, classic and custom vehicles pointed toward the movie screen. Aaron Brownlee to join Enid team in Fireball Run: America’s Frontier
March 9, 2014

Aaron BrownleeThe Enid team that will compete in Season 8 FIREBALL RUN: America’s Frontier this September is now complete. Enid businessman Aaron Brownlee, the president and chief operating officer at Wymer Brownlee, an Enid-based financial, tax and accounting firm, will join Enid City Commissioner Dr. David Vanhooser in representing the City of Enid in the FIREBALL RUN.

A reality-filmed series, FIREBALL RUN is the Most Epic Adventurally in America® a gripping and emotional 8 day, 2,500 mile, life-sized trivia game, where America serves as the game board; 40 driving teams compete for glory, bragging rights, and a plastic road sign. All while aiding in a massive effort to recover America's missing children. FIREBALL RUN announced Feb. 25 that Enid will be a destination city for the upcoming season, which begins Sept. 27 in Frisco, Texas, stops in Enid Sept. 30 and ends Oct. 4 in Independence, Mo.

“Being selected as part of the Enid team, riding in this adventure with David Vanhooser is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and an excellent way to promote our community,” Brownlee said. “September 27th cannot get here fast enough!”

Aaron Brownlee joined Wymer Brownlee in 2004, first as the COO, then expanding his role to encompass the duties of president. Since then, the firm has added three offices across Oklahoma, more than tripled its number of employees, and expanded its menu of services to include business consulting.

In addition to being responsible for day-to-day operations and strategic direction of Wymer Brownlee, Aaron works to position the company for sustainable growth, monitor transitions and ensure the client experience exceeds expectations. He oversees the leadership team, providing direction in all areas of the company. Brownlee also consults for selective clients and enjoys assisting others in building their businesses. His expertise includes cultural and leadership team development, and working with the KOLBE assessment as a building block and hiring tool. He is ultimately responsible for staffing decisions, processes and technologies throughout Wymer Brownlee. In 2011 his work was recognized when Wymer Brownlee was named the No. 1 Small Business to Work for in Oklahoma by OKC Biz.

Brownlee and wife Jami have two children, Lily, who the couple adopted in 2011 and William. Their experience has fueled a passion for the Brownlee’s to share their story, encourage others to consider adoption, and be a resource to other adoptive families.
In fact, it was FIREBALL RUN’S continued efforts to raise awareness for missing children that truly hit home for Brownlee. Every FIREBALL RUN team is assigned a missing child from their hometown region and tasked with distributing posters along the route; the awareness campaign has aided in 42 child recoveries since 2007.

“Beyond the publicity for Enid and the fun factor, the real reason behind FIREBALL RUN is to raise awareness for missing children,” Brownlee said. “Helping locate one missing child is worth all the effort in the world. You can’t put a price on that and I wholeheartedly hope helping to reunite children with their families will result from our adventure.”

Vanhooser was introduced at last week’s press conference as a co-driver for Team Enid. He is excited to have Brownlee as his partner representing Enid in FIREBALL RUN.

“Aaron has a real passion for social issues and a proven track record of philanthropy in our community,” Vanhooser said. “He believes in the growth and development of Enid. He has made a significant business investment in Enid and is the perfect choice for our endeavor. I am glad to have him on board.”

America's Frontier is FIREBALL RUN’S theme this season. To move about the country and score, driving teams solve clues and accomplish tasks based on host destination points-of-interest, history, and culture. Go to FireballRun.com to learn more about FIREBALL RUN.

Dr. David Vanhooser was announced as the driver for the car from Enid that will be a part of the run. Dr. Vanhooser's co-pilot has yet to be selected. Vanhooser and his team member will spend 10 days on the road participating in the reality series. Mayor Shewey called Clifford Porter up to the podium and informed the audience that Booker T Washington had been chosen to receive part of the proceeds when the run comes to town.

JJ Sanchez, the executive producer, was then introduced and he gave more details about the race and how progressive communities had been chosen. Benefits from the race include worldwide exposure to an Internet audience of well over a million viewers but also the movers and shakers that own million dollar businesses that will be in Enid as part of the race.
