Terry Eugene Layton

June 6, 1956 - February 16, 2024

The life celebration of Terry Eugene Layton will be at Anderson Burris Chapel at 10 am Wednesday, February 21, 2024. Terry was in the loving presence of his family and friends at the time of his passing. Terry will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery following the service.

Terry Eugene Layton was born to Eldon and Lois Layton on June 6, 1956 and died February 16, 2024. He grew up in Enid attending Wilson Elementary, Longfellow Middle School, and graduated from Enid High in 1974. Terry loved his high school buddies as well as his beloved cousins. After high school, Terry married Toni White and from that union two children were born, daughter, Traci Layton-Conrady and son, Travis Layton. Terry enjoyed sports and coached many of Travis and Traci’s soccer, basketball and baseball teams. He enjoyed Nascar and stock car racing. He played golf with his best buddies and helped his daughter hit a hole in one at Rolling Meadows Golf course near Garber.

He later married Vickie Stuart on May 17, 1995 and they worked together in the blending of a new family. He played an important role in the lives of April Thompson and Joseph Stuart. He loved Christmas holidays together as well as camping trips at the lake. He loved fishing with his family and friends. He taught both his children as well as all the grandchildren how to fish. Vickie and Terry have celebrated life together for over 30 years.

Terry worked for RA White Painting and then later opened his own business where he and long time friend Shane Hulsey worked together and painted many of Enid’s newest homes.

Terry was preceded in death by his mother, Lois Elaine Layton, brother Denny Lee and son Joseph Stuart. He is survived by Vickie Layton (spouse), daughters Traci Layton-Conrady and April Thompson and son, Travis Layton. He leaves behind 5 awesome grandsons, Austin King, Joseph Stuart, Eric Layton, Ethan Conrady and Logan Thompson.
