ENID, OK - Musical theatre director and voice teacher Veronica Hodgson will teach Gaslight's young actors how to prepare a fantastic musical theatre audition. From general audition preparation and picking the perfect audition song to acting through a song and fighting stage fright, this dynamic workshop will cover it all.

The workshop will be Saturday, October 27 at the Gaslight Theatre located at 221 N. Independence in downtown Enid. There will be two sessions offered with the Beginner's Session being from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. and the Advanced Session being from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sessions are $20 each or $30 for both. 30 minute private sessions are available at an additional charge of $25. Payment by check or cash will be accepted at the door the day of the event, but attendees are requested to register in advance at www.gaslighttheatre.org.

During her career, Mrs. Hodgson directed nearly 50 musicals and operas. She has a long-standing creative relationship with Duncan Little Theatre and runs a performance studio, Hodgson Studio of Music & Drama, of nearly 150 students. She is a sought-after vocal soloist, and has been teaching voice for over 25 years. Mrs. Hodgson is a member in good standing of both the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), and International Voice Teachers of Mix (IVTOM). She lives in Lawton, Oklahoma with her husband Dr. John Hodgson, and her daughter Lillie.

"With so many schools having their arts budgets reduced, we are seeing an influx of students to our Gaslight Teens program this year and we want to offer them as much as we can to prepare them and get them involved in the theatre, whether it's here, their schools, or their communities," said Tammy Wilson, Gaslight Teens sponsor.

Gaslight Teens is open to students in 6th thru 12th grades and they meet at the Gaslight Theatre the first and third Mondays of each month. There is no cost to be involved with the group.
