VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Hope Outreach Parenting Resource Center will once again be hosting its 7th grade boy's Character Based Abstinence Tailgate Bash. And they are currently calling Mighty Men of Character to help out with this important event. The Tailgate Bash takes place Wednesday, March 12 from 10am to 1pm at the Enid NOC Campus and Briggs Auditorium.
The event is open to all Enid, Garfield County, area wide public and private schools. The theme for the boys tailgate will be "A Man's Strength Is In His Character". Outstanding speaker and NBA star, Brent Price, will be there to share character-based messages about self-worth, abstinence and making positive life choices.
Lunch and drinks will be provided as well as door prizes and a gift for each 7th grade boy in attendance. Lunch will be an outdoor tailgate venue provided outside the NOC Golf Course. The message will be delivered in the Briggs Auditorium.
This event relies on a volunteer crew of men that can spend two-three hours of their time to mentor a small group of boys during the tailgate. You are invited to bring a truck to sit on, a few lawn chairs or blankets. There will be time for outdoor fun playing football and Frisbee.
This is the sixth year for the tailgate bash and it impacts the lives of 430 boys, many of which have no father figure in the home. Organizers are hoping for at least 75 volunteers from the Enid area. Help point a boy in the right direction by giving a few hours of your time. Volunteers are not asked to speak or give talks, they just need to keep a small group of boys together and having fun.
