The services celebrating and honoring the life of Suzanna “Sue” Payne, 67, of Enid, will be held 4:00 P.M. Thursday July 18, 2024, in the Brown-Cummings Chapel. There will be a family visitation before starting at 2:00 P.M. Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Friday July 19, 2024, in the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings, A life celebration home.
Sue was born April 13, 1957, to Leroy and Avis (Mayfield) Phares in Enid Oklahoma and passed from this life peacefully July 13, 2024, at home in Enid, Oklahoma.
She was raised and educated in Enid attending Enid Public Schools. She then attended Autry achieving her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate. She then worked for St. Mary’s Hospital , nursing homes, and in private healthcare. She married Ken L. Payne November 9, 1983, in Granbury, Texas. She enjoyed fishing, knitting, sewing, gardening, a good casino trip, traveling, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, family, and friends.
She is survived by one son, David Payne, two daughters, April Norton and husband Bobby, of Davenport, Oklahoma and Melody Blackwell of Webster, Missouri; grandchildren Samuel Holden, Austin Holden, Landon Kusik, Henry Norton and one sister, Darla Tauber.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ken L. Payne, several siblings, many friends, and her parents.
Memorials may be made in her honor to the Hospice Circle of Love with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
