ENID, OK - City of Enid officials announces the opening of the new skate park in Enid. The skate park construction has been completed and opened. Currently, crews are putting sod down around the skate park area. The City will be adding a water fountain in the near future. Additionally, the parking and sidewalks will be upgraded after Randolph Avenue has been milled and overlayed.
A ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for Friday, January 8, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. and the grand opening is slated for 3:30 p.m. on the same day. The public is invited to attend both events.
At the ribbon cutting, the special guest will be Enid native and world-renowned violinist Kyle Dillingham, known for playing the violin as he skateboards.
The grand opening will consist of a clinic on basic skateboarding techniques, a skate competition game, and giveaways. The Bike Shop has donated a Street Surfing scooter and two Krown skateboards that will be giveaways in the competition and raffle. Exist Rocks will be providing tee shirts, stickers, and music. Additionally, the Eat ‘Em Up Hotdogs food truck will be at the event.
