Mass of Christian Burial for Shirley Mallams Ellis, will be Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10:00 am in St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church with Reverend Mark Mason celebrant. Visitation with the family present will be Monday evening from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Burial will be Wednesday, May 11 at Hosey Hill Cemetery, Weir, Kansas at 1:00 pm.
Shirley was born November 26, 1928 in Earlsboro, Oklahoma to Bill and Madeline Hall Mallams and passed away on May 3, 2022 at her home in Enid with her daughters by her side.
She grew up in Tallant, Oklahoma at the Cities Service Station. Shirley graduated from Barnsdall High School in 1946 and married John P. Ellis on February 14, 1946 in Barnsdall. They moved to Enid in 1960 and she worked at J.C. Penny, Mistletoe Express and Beaver Express. Shirley was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, the Altar Society and volunteered at Our Daily Bread. She enjoyed family gatherings and activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 65 years and 45 days, John; daughter, Diane Roberts; brothers, Billy Hall Mallams and Bobby Joe Mallams; sons-in-law, William C. Bush and Bobby Mann.
Shirley is survived by her loves: daughter, Charlotte Bush of Houston, children, Terri (J.R.) Criner and Lori (Brian) French; daughter, Paula Mann of Enid, children, Shawna (Doug) Simmons, Kara Biederman (Tyler), Matthew (Lydia) Mann, Katrina Mann; daughter, Michele (Mike) Healy of Stillwater, children, Kyle Green Kelli (Clinton) Grell, Chad (Sondra) Healy, Ryan Healy; son-in-law, Donald Roberts of Wichita, children, Amy (Cory) Wilgers, Seth (Corri) Roberts; brother, Pat (Beverly) Mallams; sisters, Janet Vidrine Lofton, Kathy (Gary) Guinn; great grandchildren, Austin and Alicen Criner, Evan and Garrett French, Ryan, Aaron, Logan and Joe Wilgers, Maddi, Zach and Alex Roberts, Kaylie (Tyler) Culbert, Brenden Baughman, Parker Simmons, Joey Simmons, Wes Simmons, Dakota (Lacey) Luetkemeyer, Kaden Biederman, Chance Biederman, Wylie and Madeline Mann; great, great grandchildren, Kenzie and Zoie Culbert, Cashton Patterson, Evan Madison, Emerson Simmons; other family members, Eddie and Connie Green, Mike and Kim Helterbrand, Rick and Mary Gerken; many nieces and nephews that she was very close to, she loved them as she did her own children.
