ENID, OK - City of Enid officials along with Enid Public School officials announced Wednesday changes in the use of school beacons during the lunch hour time period.

Officials will turn off the school beacons during the lunch period for all Enid Public Schools beginning next semester. According to schools officials, students no longer leave campuses during the lunch hour and all playgrounds are fenced and supervised during breaks. Officials have determined the use of the beacons is no longer needed during this time of day.

The new schedule will take affect when students head back to school on Monday, January 7, 2019.
