The Services celebrating and honoring the life of Mr. Rufus R. Faulk, 85, of Enid will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday May 12, 2017 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Reverend Aaron Foshee officiating. A Rosary will take place at 6:00 P.M. Thursday May 11, 2017 with Deacon Tony Crispo officiating. Burial will take place 2:15 P.M. Monday May 15, 2017 in Dallas National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.
Rufus R. Faulk was born February 2, 1932 in Morse, Louisiana to Rufus and Alice Hannon Faulk, and passed from this life on May 2, 2017 in Enid, Oklahoma. He graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 1947, at the age of 15, Rufus joined the U.S. Navy. He served at the Naval Air Station Oceana, Virginia and was Honorably discharged in 1950. He then joined the U.S. Army in 1950 serving with the 32nd Infantry, Company C where he served and fought in the Korean War. As a result of his service, he was awarded numerous medals including the Bronze Star & Purple Heart. He was Honorably discharged in 1952.
Through his adult life he worked on and received a Bachelor Degree along with a Master’s Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma.
He is survived by his wife, Clara Faulk, children; Ron Jones, Tammy Hester, Susie Roberts, Robert Faulk, Renee Brooks, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and two siblings; Sylvia Johnson of Norman, Oklahoma, and Audrey May Faulk of Connecticut.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Faulk; sisters Eva Haygood and Gloria Collins; and brother, Rudy Faulk.
