July 20, 1962 - April 14, 2022
Roger Dean Bowman was born on July 20th, 1962, in Bristow, Oklahoma, to Harold and Barbara Bowman, and went to meet his Heavenly Father on April 14, 2022.
As a child, Roger found his love for the outdoors and fishing. He also had a knack for sleeping. He would nap through class and still manage to ace every test. Roger attended school in Medford, Oklahoma, and graduated from Medford High School in 1980, later attending college.
Roger met the love of his life Colene Buckley in December 1984 at her birthday party. They were married on May 10, 1986. Colene brought with her a son, Eric, whom Roger loved as his own. They completed their family with the birth of a baby girl, Jamie, who was the joy of his life.
Roger loved to fish and would go every chance he got. He was known for teaching all the kids and would take any kid who was willing with him because he knew if they were at the river with him they wouldn't be getting into trouble. He never let them forget he could always out-fish them.
Roger made a career working on the pipeline. He was employed with K&M pipeline, Joe Max, Decker's Casing, Crenshaw's, C&C Pipeline, and Marsau. He worked long hours to provide for his family so they could take Eric to his traveling soccer and for Jamie's beauty pageants and soccer. In August of 2000 he was promoted to his final title of PAPA. Roger loved his grandkids very much. He loved to pull the girls' hair and instigate their ornery behavior. He spoiled his kids and grandkids with love, ice cream, and his time even when he "was not sleeping." He loved taking his family on vacations, especially any involving the ocean. Roger could make friends with anyone and was always willing to help when he could.
Roger was preceded in death by his grandparents, brother Don Bowman and sister-in-law Lori, nephew Chad Hern, nephew Ryon Weidner, great-niece Kamryn Hern, great-nephew Lane Hern, great-niece Ashlyn Koons.
Roger is survived by his wife of 35 years, Colene Bowman; daughter, Jamie Willis and husband Taurean; son, Eric Miller and wife Candas; grandchildren Rylon Tolle and husband Christopher, Brooklynn Miller, Tabitha Miller, Mya Jacks, Titus Miller and Jaedyn Willis, and soon-to-be-born great-grandson Rucker Tolle, and fur-baby Sammy, all of Enid; mother, Barbara Bowman of Medford; brother Mickey Bowman of Medford; sister Kathy Hern and husband Johnathan Struble of Ponca City; and numerous in-laws, nieces, and nephews whom he loved dearly.
