Bob was born March 13, 1923 in Dubuque, Kansas to Charles and Mable (Sharp) Klusener, and passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018.

Bob lost his parents at an early age; he lost his mother at the age of seven, and his father passed away two years later when he was nine. Following their deaths, Bob and his brothers went to live with their aunts and uncles where they worked for their room and board. Bob attended school in Dorrence, Kansas. At the age of 16 years, he lived with Sammy and Marie Heim, his foster parents, as well as Max, his foster brother. Sammy passed away while Bob was in active duty in the Army. Marie eventually met and married John Letsch who became a very important person in his life. Bob was in the 82nd Paratrooper Airborne Division in the European Theater, serving in France and Germany. He was part of the honor guard that guarded Gen. Eisenhour and Gen. Patton.
-
He was united in marriage to Virginia Becker July 25, 1947 in Russell, Kansas. Bob worked for Texaco as a pumper in Kansas and Enid, eventually retiring after 40 years.
-
One of the greatest joys of Bob’s life was being reunited with his foster brother Max, who he hadn’t seen for many years. Bob and Max considered themselves actual brothers. Max and his wife and niece would travel from the family farm in Russell, Kansas to spend time with Bob on many occasions. Bob’s children Tim and Vicki were able to take their dad to visit Max at the farm on two occasions, where he was able to visit with nieces and nephews and other family members.
-
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mable Klusener; wife Virginia Klusener; son Alan Klusener; and four brothers; Irvin, Orville, Donnie, and Ralph Klusener.
-
Robert is survived by his two children, daughter Vicki Guest and husband Gary, of Enid; son Tim Klusener and wife Dana of Sugarland, Texas; four grandchildren, Gina Yohe, Farrah Schreiner, Elizabeth Smith and Scarlett Klusener Tripp; six great-grandchildren, Alexis Yohe, Madison and Colton Schreiner, Tristan Tripp, and Jessica and Bobby Smith; as well as his foster brother, Max Heim and family.
