Funeral service for Robert Cornish will be April 15, 2022, at 9:00 AM in Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Fort Gibson National Cemetery, Fort Gibson, Oklahoma at 2:30 PM.
Robert was born April 23, 1957, in Penn Yan, New York to John and Catherine Cornish and died on April 8, 2022 at his home in Enid.
He grew up in Dundee, New York and graduated from high school there. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, being stationed in Okinawa, Japan, Clark AFB, Philippines, Plattsburg, New York, Misawa, Japan and Vance AFB, Enid. On December 21, 1978, he married Clarita Santos Layug. They moved to Enid in 1990. Robert enjoyed golfing, bowling, and car racing. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most of all enjoyed being surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife, Clarita; children, Karen Alvey, Jay Cornish, Chris Cornish, Vanessa Stanley, Agnes Gomez-Lim; 9 grandchildren; brother, Terry Cornish; sister, Rita Carson; other relatives and friends.
