Robert E. "Bob" Schroeder, went peacefully to join his Lord at his home on May 5, 2022. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday May 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at the Anderson-Burris Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Nathan Oney officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Bob was born on June 6, 1933, in Enid, Oklahoma to Roy and Edna Schroeder.
Bob grew up in Enid and graduated from Kremlin High School, where he played baseball and basketball. After graduating from high school Bob joined the Air Force. In 1954, Bob married Ruby Marsolf. After his time in the Air Force, Bob was employed by Beech Aircraft. Bob and Ruby returned to Enid where Bob was employed by the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for thirty years before retiring in 1990.
Bob loved hunting and fishing and was a longtime member of the Grand National Gun Club frequently participating in the annual Grand National Quail Hunt. He was also a longtime member of the National Fishing Lure Collectors Club and the National Association of Letter Carriers. Bob was a longtime member of the New Hope United Methodist Church.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Edna, his son Ricki Eugene Schroeder, his sister Doris Camire, and his brothers LeRoy Schroeder and Henry Schroeder.
He is survived by his wife Ruby, his son Randy Schroeder, daughter-in-law Marlys Schroeder, and his grandchildren Mandy Schroeder of Enid, and Ricki Schroeder of Washington D.C.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the New Hope United Methodist Church in Enid.
