ENID, OK - On December 23, 2016 at 9:32 P.M., the Enid Police Department received a call concerning Marcus Cotton who had held a female against her will. Mr. Cotton had also held a gun to the female’s head and threatened to kill her. Police officers responded to a residence on C court and learned that Mr. Cotton had already left the residence and will most likely be at a residence on E court.

Police responded to the residence on E court and later found Mr. Cotton inside the residence and arrested him for Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Kidnapping and resisting arrest.

Police has received information that Mr. Cotton was responsible for the thefts that occurred at the Baymont Inn on December 11th and the Hampton Inn on December 19th. Mr. Cotton was also listed as a suspect in the Ross Department store robbery on December 11th and the CVS robbery on December 22nd.

During a search of the residence police found items of evidence related to the thefts and robberies. Mr. Cotton was then charged with two counts of Robbery and paperwork is being sent to the District Attorney’s Office concerning the thefts.

Mr. Cotton’s relation, Ladonna J. Cotton DOB: 06/06/66 was found walking in the neighborhood, shortly before Mr. Cotton’s arrest and she had a purse in her possession from the Baymont Inn theft. Mrs. Cotton admitted she was trying to get rid of it, so Mr. Cotton wouldn’t get into trouble. Mrs. Cotton was arrested on charges of Public Intoxication, Knowingly Concealing stolen Property and Tampering with Evidence. Both were booked into the Garfield County Detention Center.
