November 25, 1960 — December 21, 2024
Richard Lynn Maly, beloved husband, father & Pop Pop, went home today, December 21, 2024. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
A Celebration of Life for Richard Lynn Maly, age 64, of Hennessey, will be 2:00pm, Friday, January 3, 2025 at the Community Bible Church in Lahoma, with Pastor Bill Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7pm on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the funeral home. Service arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
He never met a stranger and was the, "good ole boy" you wanted to meet when problems happened. Rich was born at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid on a foggy day after Thanksgiving. Rich was raised in Bison, OK and graduated from Waukomis Schools. Rich loved animals, he was active in the Waukomis FFA in showing swine. Rich attended Autry Vo Tech during High school, which led him to Conway's Auto Body. He later went to work for the Bison and Waukomis CO-OP which led him to Farmland Feed Mill where he worked for over eighteen years. Richard and Diane married on July 1, 1988. Rich and Diane had two children, Sid and Lauren. Farming was always on his mind, he came home to be a farmer, and a stay at home dad for Sid and Lauren.
His passion for farming came from his father, which he farmed with for twenty years. He loved his cattle and dogs, and there was never a neglected animal. He lived for Sunday morning coyote hunting with the neighbors and family.
A legacy is what you leave behind. Richard's was not money, fortune or fame, it was his love and the people he touched. Not all family are blood, some just call you Daddy Maly, and they are well loved. To know him is to love him.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents David and Connie Maly. He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years Roberta Diane Maly of the home; son Sidney Maly and wife Sierra; daughter Lauren Farrand and husband Austin; four granddaughters, Madelynn, Emberly, Lynlee Maly, and Bristol Farrand; and one grandson Walker Farrand; one brother, Clarence Maly and wife Lisa.
