A Celebration of Life service for Richard J. Holtsclaw age 83 of Enid will be 2:00 Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Immanuel Baptist Church- Wichita, KS with Pastor David Crowther officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Richard was born April 9, 1940 in Neodesha, KS to Marvin and Lula Dryden Holtsclaw and passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023. He enlisted in the U. S. Army on July 17, 1959 and was honorably discharged on July 24, 1966. He enlisted in the Army National Guard on February 4, 1974.
He married Linda K Cron on December 30, 1963 at Ft Hood, TX and had two daughters Susan and Shannon. He later married Janice Fisher in October of 1993. They met at the WSU Physical Plant in 1987. He worked as a bus driver, truck driver, and became pipefitter for WSU retiring after 22 years. He went in the Bus Tour driving for Prestige Bus Company, then followed by 18 wheelers and cargo vans for American Red Cross. He and Janice traveled all over the United States, Japan, and Germany.
Richard is survived by his two daughters Susan Harrison and husband John and Shannon Spear and husband Brent, 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren, brother Benny Holtsclaw, sister Alora Crownover and several other family members.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife Janice, brother Keith and sister Carol.
