Rayford was born July 30, 1960 to Nadine Moore and Henry Lee Freeman Jr. He was the youngest of 11 children. He played football while attending school in Detroit, MI and at Enid High School. He was a chess player and loved challenging other chess players to a match. His passion was fishing. He introduced and taught most of his nieces and nephews how to fish. He had many fishing buddies. Although he never had children of his own, he was a father figure to many.
