Graveside services for Ray Dean O'Dea, 75, Enid resident, will be held at 11:30 am on Monday, February 20, 2023 in Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain Gary Miller officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the United States Marine Corps. Services are under the kind guidance of the Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service.
Ray Dean O’Dea was born to Verlon R. O’Dea and Velma L. Reames O’Dea on May 13, 1947 and passed away February 13, 2023. Ray was a great and loving bother to his sister Kay and brother James. Ray attended Enid schools, graduating from Enid High in 1965 before attending Enid Business College. After Ray’s education he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp attaining the rank of corporal. While serving two tours in South Vietnam Ray received many honors and metals as a combat infantryman.
After serving his country Ray returned to Enid and married Betty Rogers in 1975. Even though Ray and Betty were not blessed with their own children they fostered many children over the years out of love. Ray prided himself in helping others and spent many years mentoring and helping those in need, such a great heart.
Ray was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, wife, brother James, and nephew Jason. Ray is survived by his sister Kay Stowers and husband Mickey, niece Heather Easley and husband Matt and their children Sean, Jayden, and Maycie, nephew Brandon Williams, niece Ashley Wilson and husband Paul and their daughter Audrey, and niece Briley Williams along with lots of great cousins and friends. A special note to a great friend, Teresa Davis, who took loving care of Ray in his final days. Donations can be made to Make A Wish and Hospice.
