A Mass of Christian Burial for Rachel Alice Highfill, age 83, will be at 9:00 AM Thursday, July 13, 2017, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with Rev. Aaron Foshee and Rev. Kelly Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:00 PM Wednesday at Anderson-Burris Funeral Home.

Rachel was born on April 1, 1934 in Okeene, Oklahoma to Theodore B. Stottmann, Sr. and Lucy E. Noel Stottmann and died on July 9, 2017 in Enid.

She attended grade school in Curtis, Oklahoma and graduated from Mooreland High School. On November 26, 1955, she married Richard B. Highfill at Quinlan Catholic Church. They made their home four miles southeast of Cherokee, Oklahoma, where they farmed and she was a homemaker for twenty years. They had five sons and a daughter. Rachel worked in several restaurants in Cherokee and the Carmen Home. In 1986, she moved to Enid and worked at Cattleman’s Café. She later worked at Highland Park Manor, Marilyn K’s Restaurant, where she retired in 2004. Rachel was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Auxillary.

Surviving are children, Charles Highfill and Lillian Highfill, both of Enid, John Highfill and wife Denise of Selma, North Carolina, and George Highfill and wife Debbie of Cherokee; grandchildren, Christopher Highfill, Stephanie Miller and husband, Tim, Hether Barsulai and husband, Nicholas, Ashly Smith, and Hally Highfill; two brothers, George Stottmann of Ringwood, OK and John Stottmann of Ralston, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Richard B. Highfill; two sons, Richard E. and David Highfill; sisters, Lucy Pitcherello and Catherine Glover; brother, Ted Stottmann.
