ENID, OK - Join YWCA Enid at several events throughout the month of October to increase awareness of domestic violence. Their "PURPLE OUTs" have become a yearly tradition where a balloon release is done in honor of domestic violence victims at home football games around the Enid area. All attendees are encouraged to wear purple to the games and help YWCA Enid GO PURPLE. Purple footballs and purple stickers are handed out at the games. The cheerleaders and football players also wear purple.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and now is the perfect time to take a stand. Domestic violence is prevalent in every community and affects all people regardless of age, socio-economic status, gender, race, religion, or nationality. Every 9 seconds a woman is assaulted or beaten in the US. 1 in 4 women will be victims of domestic violence in their lifetime. Time doesn't stop but the violence has to. This growing epidemic can be prevented with increased awareness and help for victims. YWCA Enid is here to help.
