Phyllis J. Hilton (Langkiet)

Service of Remembrance and Celebration of Life for Phyllis Jeanne Hilton, 84, of Enid, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, Nov. 25, 2019 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Brett Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Phyllis passed quietly at home Nov. 20th following a lengthy struggle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Phyllis was born February 27, 1935 in Enid, the daughter of Carl and Edith Langkiet. She was united in marriage to Jimmy J. Hilton on October 10, 1952. Together they lived in several states and Europe before retiring to their hometown of Enid after Jim’s 32 year military career. They remained married for 67 years until Phyllis’ death.

Phyllis was a devoted wife and loving mother of three children, five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Her first love was her family and she was an active leader in Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and served as a Sunday school teacher. She was active in Officer’s Wives Clubs, local churches throughout her many moves and was a hospital volunteer. She was an accomplished ceramicist and also enjoyed traveling and teaching her children to appreciate different places, cultures and people. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren before her health declined. Her family will remember her most as the consummate military wife and mother whose strength and resolve rose to every challenge.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Lt Col Ret. Jimmy J. Hilton of Enid; son Dr. Myron Hilton of Oklahoma City, daughter Narda Hilton of Bristow, son-in-law Tommie Bailey of Tuscumbia, Alabama; sister Wynona Fithian of Enid; grandchildren Taryn Pittman and husband Rev. Brett Pittman of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Brett Bucher of New Market, Alabama, SFC Travis Bucher of Fort Bliss, Texas, Dr. Bryan Hilton and wife Dr. Corry Marcincin of Frisco, Colorado, and Dr. Blake Hilton and wife Dr. Desiree Azizoddin of Boston, Massachusetts; great grandchildren Clay, Noah and Abby Pittman, and Turner and Trevor Bucher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Carla Bailey, and her two brothers Carl and Jimmy Langkiet.

Memorials may be made to Lewy Body Dementia Association or Hospice Circle of Love with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home as custodian of funds.
