ENID, OK - Stephen Hager continues to bring new ideas and improvements to Pheasant Run Golf & Entertainment. His latest move has been to bring in veteran golf course groundskeeper Scott Brady to help oversee the course.
Brady brings 28 years experience with him as he takes over as the golf course superintendent. He'll be working in partnership with Rodney Jackson who's been groundskeeper at Pheasant Run since 2017. The duo already met to discuss what shape the course is in and they know work needs to be done.
Jackson has been trying to keep up with the 189 acre course with limited manpower and understands that improvements need to be done. He, along with Brady, have a game plan to get the greens and tee boxes in shape as soon as possible. They will then tackle major concerns on the fairways and bunkers.
Small changes to the course will be seen immediately but it's going to take time for all of their plans to be implemented. Brady and Jackson will be looking into irrigation concerns and replacing sprinkler heads that have been in need of repair.
Pheasant Run is a links style golf course, having a natural and open lay-out, fewer trees and heavily affected by the wind. The front 9 is open and the back 9 is landscaped to add difficulty to your game. You need not be a member to play the course, it is open to the public.
Brady said they will be looking for additional grounds keeping help this summer. Anyone interested should stop by and fill out an application.
Pheasant Run also has new Club Car golf carts on order. They should be arriving early next year and will be equipped with GPS. A new website is also being created that will allow online access to reserving a tee time.
Another new addition to the golf course will be FlingGolf. FlingGolf is a sport that is easy to start and fun to master. You play on a regular golf course, but instead of hitting a golf ball with a club, you use a single FlingStick thrower to hurl the ball and shape every shot from tee to hole. You can even play in the same foursome as traditional golfers.
Golfers should consider purchasing a dual golf membership at Pheasant Run and Meadowlake Golf Course. The trial partnership is currently good for individual memberships only from March 2023 to February 2024. Golfers must sign up at Pheasant Run. Regular memberships to both courses will continue to be available.
The one year dual membership is $300 a month. A $330 a month plan includes range balls at both courses and 10% off discounts at PR Grill and the Meadowlake Pro Shop.
Pheasant Run is also offering a $79.99 a month membership that includes three rounds of golf with cart or $99.99 a month for four rounds of golf with cart. These are PR only memberships with a one year agreement.
Hager said new family entertainment on the way includes pickleball courts, hole-in-one challenges and a state-of-the-art golf simulator. He says there are even more surprises coming but he wants to keep some of those announcements for later down the road.
Pheasant run is located at 1702 Clubhouse Drive. If you have questions call 580-233-2355.
