A Celebration of Life service for Paul Ray Jantz age 93 of Fairview formerly of Enid will be 10:30 am Friday at the Grace Mennonite Church with Rev. Richard Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm.
Paul was born to Ferd and Caroline (Unruh) Jantz on November 7, 1927 near Ringwood, OK and passed from his earthly life on Sunday February 28, 2021 at the Fairview Fellowship Home. He graduated from Oklahoma Bible Academy in 1946. He married Mamie Jean Buller on June 5, 1949 in Goltry. They were married 71 years and were blessed with two children, son Gary and daughter Sherry. While living in Goltry area for seven years, he worked for the Frisco Railroad. They moved to Enid where he worked various other jobs. He worked 17 years for Champlin Refinery until its closure.
Not yet old enough to retire, he worked as a maintenance engineer for the Drummond Public Schools where he retired. Besides camping with friends and family, woodworking became his passion and his pass time in his retirement years making many donations of items for the Mennonite Relief Sale and gifts for family and friends. He was a member of Grace Mennonite Church, where he served approximately 50 years as an usher.
Paul is survived by his wife Jean of Fairview, son Gary Jantz and wife Linda of Imperial, Nebraska, daughter Sherry Boehs and husband Bruce of Fairview, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren which all brought him so much enjoyment. Three sisters, Ethel Schumacher of Tahlequah, Dorothy Perkins and Jane Norwood, and one sister-in-law Sandy Jantz all of Norman.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ferd and Caroline, brother Gene Jantz and a granddaughter.
Memorials may be made to his beloved Grace Mennonite Church of Enid where he devoted many hours of labor to help build with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodians of the fund.
