Paul Burdick

The services celebrating and honoring the life of Paul Art Burdick. 84, of Enid, will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday July 6, 2023 in the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home with Reverend David Reber officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home.

Paul was born May 15, 1939, to Elmer and Dora Dodd Burdick at home in Enid, Oklahoma and passed from this life July 1, 2023, in Enid, Oklahoma. He was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1957 where he played on the State Champion Basketball team. He then went on to attend Enid Business College and began working for the City of Enid in 1959. He married his wife of sixty-four years, Lois Goodpasture, September 5, 1959, in the First Church of Christ, Enid, Oklahoma, from this union came three children. He worked for the City of Enid in the engineering department for thirty-eight years until his retirement in 1997; he then continued to volunteer as a groundskeeper for ten years. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and working in his yard, winning yard of the month several times over the years and an occasional trip to the horse races. He loved going to his grandchildren’s events and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife Lois Burdick, of the home, daughter Rhonda Gilmore, of Enid, sons Christopher Burdick and wife Carla of Enid, and Brian Burdick and wife Sara of Poteau, Ok., grandchildren, Richard and Laura Burdick, Cayla and Mat Nicolin, Crystal and Jesse Atkinson, Casie and Joe Johnson, Cady Gilmore and fiancé Chris Potter, Hudson Burdick, Harper Burdick, six great grandchildren, Chandler, Abigail, Chloe, Sutton, Watson and Mitt; and three siblings, Renie and Mike Krienke of Enid, Debbie and Mike Toone of Enid, and Cliff and Kim Burdick of Guthrie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Dora Burdick and one brother Bob Burdick. Memorials may be made in his honor to St. Paul’s Lutheran School with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
