ENID, OK - The mystery of who purchased the old El Chico location on W. Garriott has been the topic of speculation for a week now. It doesn't take long for news to get out and we were told over the weekend that the owners of Napoli's had purchased the building.

I spoke with Tony Zakuti, owner of Napoli's, Wednesday evening and asked him about the purchase. The first thing Tony wanted to assure everyone is that Napoli's downtown is not going anywhere. Tony told me that they would not get rid of the downtown location because it's next to the ballpark and the event center and is a great location.

I spoke with Tony months ago about opening a second location and at the time he was looking into the spot next to Quick Lane Tire & Auto Center on Hoover. Tony said he has been interested in possibly opening something on the west side of Enid for a while now.

Napoli's has always had a location in downtown Enid. The original Napoli's was located on W. Randolph in the old Richill's building. They then moved from that spot to the empty Pastimes location on Grand in 2013.

Tony and his brothers own and operate the Napoli's Italian Restaurant and have not made plans on what they will do with the El Chico building. He did tell me it would be an eatery but at this time there is no decision on what format it will be. He said, "I was presented an opportunity that I could not pass up."

The Zakuti brothers have built a great dining establishment downtown and have recently improved the outdoor patio area. Napoli's specializes in Italian dishes as well as pizza and desserts. They have a full bar and great wine selection. Ask about their gluten free meals the next time you're there. The eatery is located at 225 S. Grand.
