Funeral service for Opal Kimmell, 88 of Covington, will be Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10 a.m. in the United Methodist Church, Covington. Burial will follow in Covington Cemetery under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Opal was born July 22, 1933 to Alva and Katie Spillman and passed away Monday, January 17, 2022. She graduated from Covington High School and later married Ansil “Dutch” Kimmell on October 22, 1951. She and Dutch raised three children while farming wheat, and raising cattle and goats. She was a member of the Eastern Star and the Covington United Methodist Church. Opal’s greatest joys in life have been watching all the grandkids and a few of the great grandkids play ball games.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dutch, son, Melvin, five brothers and a sister. She is survived by her children, Linda and husband David Ross of Broken Arrow, Darryl and wife Mara Jo Kimmell of Pond Creek, daughter-in-law, Cathy Kimmell of Covington, 9 grandkids and 17 great-grandkids.
