ENID, OK - Remember the good old Video Twin on west Garriott? The picture above is how it looks today! The theater first opened in March of 1972 and was the place to go and see new movies. At one time there was a Pizza Inn across the street along with an arcade and Putt-Putt.
-
I remember seeing movies like Star Wars, Close Encounters and Animal House there. We would meet for a movie and then eat what we could afford at Pizza Inn. It was a very cool theater at the time, much larger and more modern than the Esquire and Chief that were located downtown.
-
The theater, located at 3517 W. Garriott, was owned by a couple of different companies over the years. Carmike Cinema was the last to operate it as a theater and closed the doors in January 2007.

Riffel Law Firm, PLLC took on the task of moving their offices into the old movie theater building. Riffel Law Firm, Enid attorneys, are using 6,000 square feet of the 16,000 available for their law offices. To accommodate a larger office space they had to extend the east side of the building with a new front.
-
The law firm moved into their new offices in mid-March 2009. The remainder of the building is filled with medical offices and a laboratory.
-
The original slanted floors in the movie theater areas are now covered with a wooden floor. The renovation included placing a concrete apron and floor joists above the old floor. There is now access space beneath the floor, making it easier for workers to gain access too.
-
The law firm did keep the movie theater popcorn machine and uses it in the kitchen of the of the building. Unfortunately the old projectors were so large and heavy they had to be tossed out and were destroyed. Movie seats from the theaters were donated to local churches.
-
There is a combined 17,000-square feet of space on the ground floor and a second floor. The top floor was where the old projection rooms were and are now used for storage. Riffel originally wanted a two-story building, but the low ceiling on the second floor prevented it.
