Funeral services for Norma Lee Ruth will be 1:00pm, Saturday, October 28, 2023 in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Norma was born September 2, 1934 in Mangum to Fred and Jessie Hunt and passed away peacefully on October 19, 2023. She attended Mangum Schools until her marriage to Kenneth “Gene” Ruth on January 19, 1951. In 1953, the family moved to Enid where they resided to the present. In 1959, Norma went to work for Scheffe’s Rx Shop as a Clerk typist, and did so for 11 years. She was an avid reader and always carried a book with her. She loved animals and dearly loved her “kitties.” Norma also loved to go to Riverwind Casino and play the slot machines.
Norma is survived by her daughter, Janis (Ruth) Montgomery and husband, Carl; grandson, Buck Montgomery, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth “Gene” Ruth; brother, Marvin Hunt and sister, Bobbie (Hunt) Whitley; and a dear sister-in-law, Mary “Topsy” Hunt.
The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at Heritage at Brandon Place in Oklahoma City and the caregivers at Suncrest Hospice for their help in taking care of our loved one.
