ENID, OK - Kyle Williams, developer of The District, gave an update on the project at a speech given to the Enid Rotary Club on Monday. A full house attended the talk and heard Williams describe the need for a movie theater and entertainment venue in Enid.
-
Williams admitted to not being a public speaker but felt Enid deserved an update on the project. He said he and his wife's passion is to love people and to help people around the world. Williams said, "I see opportunities everywhere."
-
The old Lahoma Courts area was wiped clean so they could start from scratch. All boundaries, easements and streets were removed. A new plat has now been established. New curbs and entryways are now being constructed.
-
Williams said the closing with Colton's Steakhouse should take place in about 30 days. The only remaining property available is directly across from Hobby Lobby. It will either be sold or in time developed into a possible medical center.
-
Williams said his counsel to the City of Enid was to get the very best and not to settle when it comes to a new movie theater. "We have phenomenal property, we've got a great market and we need to deliver an entertainment venue and movie theater for our community," Williams stated.
-
At the end of the update, Williams reminded everyone that we needed to be patient to get the right movie theater. He reminded the audience that sometimes these things take a little longer. He said streets and utilities should be ready in about 120 days and then they would get serious about bringing in a movie theater.

JULY 22, 2019 - A local development company’s acquisition of the Lahoma Courts property from the City of Enid was finalized in June. Anchored Capital 3 Investments purchased the 18 acres located on the southeast corner of Garriott and Cleveland.
-
Company officials said the planned development will include 5 pad sites, a 7 acre movie theatre tract, and two stand-alone restaurants including a Colton’s Steakhouse as well Hideaway Pizza. The name for the new development will be The District.
-
It was previously announced the development will feature a Jiffy Trip and JT’s restaurant at the corner of Garriott and Cleveland. Alex Williams of Anchored Capital said initial infrastructure and utility planning and work is underway. Demolition of the remaining structures started in mid-July. Williams said, "It's probably a 45-day demolition process."
-
Anchored Capital helped close the deal on the remaining Lahoma Courts property and will play a large role in clearing the land, running utilities and making way for a possible movie theatre.
-
As the process continues, Williams said they are working with retail consultant Rickey Hayes on identifying retail needs in the city for possible location in the development.
-
Jerald Gilbert, City Manager, and the City of Enid are working diligently to finalize a deal with a movie theatre company. Gilbert said, "I really appreciate Kyle Williams and his company Hammer Williams and Anchored Capital 3 LLC for taking on this project."
-
Gilbert also said, "As we look at economic development a lot of the drivers of those projects are people that are here or from here and so we very much appreciate their efforts."
-
When asked about the current movie theatre development Gilbert stated, "We're continuing to work that with the company that we're talking to and we're confident that we're going to bring that to fruition." He said they hoped to have a signed contract soon that they could take to the commission which would allow them to talk about the project more publicly.
-
The billboard at Garriott and Cleveland was removed at the end of June and will eventually be replaced with an electronic billboard. Gilbert helped finalize the deal to remove the current billboard which was still under a lease agreement.
-
-
The corner at Garriott and Cleveland will have a Jiffy Trip and JT's restaurant.
-
-
Colton's Steakhouse will be located on the Cleveland side of The District.
-
-
Alex Williams, Kyle Williams, Mayor Pankonin and Jerald Gilbert stand on a lot at Lahoma Courts that will soon be developed into The District.

We are so excited to hear of possibility of new additions from developers that are actually from Enid and who want to provide quality, local business.
Super cool and super excited CT, thanks for the updates! A real effort to improve the quality of life in Enid. ????????????????
Thank you Mr. Kyle Williams for taking an interest and discovering possibilities in our community. A new movie theater is sorely needed and the Jiffy Trip located at Owen K. Garriott is wonderful. I’m originally from Boston and most recently from Kansas City. In my opinion, we need more variety in eating establishments, good quality establishments, like Olive Garden, PF Changs, Texas Road House, Cracker Barrel, etc.
When attending a movie, it would be great to have some variety for dinner. All one has to do is drive down the main road in Stillwater to realize what’s missing in Enid.
What a wonderful experience!
Also, a Home Depot would also be a great asset to our community!
