The Mass of Christian burial for Nena Dupus, 63 year-old Hunter resident, will be 11:00am Saturday, March 6, 2021 in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Reverend Mark Mason officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 6:00pm Friday evening in the Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home Chapel. Deacon Tony officiating. A wake will follow.
Nena was born January 15, 1958 in Kennett, MO to Paul and Ramona (Foster) Stone and died Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at her home in Hunter. She attended local schools and Enid High School. She married Russell Dupus and the couple made their home in rural Breckenridge. She worked as a housekeeper and numerous other jobs until ill health forced her retirement.
She was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her flower beds. She and Russell loved riding his Harley and before she got sick, they took a four week trip through New Mexico. She also had a love affair for animals, especially cats. She and Russell went through life as a “we” and were true partners.
Nena is survived by her husband, Russell of the home; three children, Detra Farmer, Rhonda Malone, and Derek Dupus; five grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, three sisters and one brother. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
