Myles Eugene Yoes

December 17, 1934 — August 12, 2024

Services for Myles Yoes, age 89, of Enid, will be 10:00 am, Friday, August 16, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church of Enid with Reverend Devon Krause officiating. Burial will follow at 4:00 pm at Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 15th at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel.

Myles Yoes was born in Hollis, Oklahoma to Thomas and Dola Yoes (Locke) on December 17, 1934.

Myles was called home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, August 12, 2024.

Myles was an active citizen in Enid for 64 years. He was an educator at Enid Public Schools serving as a counselor, psychologist, and mentor to many of his co-workers and friends. Myles attended SWOSU, where he earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education, and his Doctoral degree in psychology at the University of Texas.

Myles and his wife, Jahnon are members of the United Methodist Church of Enid. They enjoyed traveling around the world for many years with friends and family. His hobbies included tennis, bowling, and playing golf with his friends. One of the highlights of his golfing career was when he made a hole-in-one at Phillips Golf Course! He enjoyed playing bridge with his family and friends. He served as an officer, and was a member of the board of the Enid Coin Club for many years. Myles also volunteered at local food banks. He served as a deacon for many years at Willow View United Methodist Church.

Myles is survived by his loving wife, Jahnon and his three children Rhonda Mason and Mark Smith, of Oklahoma City; Guy and Tammy Yoes, of Springfield, MO; and Lisa and Doug French of The Villages, FL. He was blessed with many grandchildren: Leighla Mason, Lacee Peace (Enid), Michael Mason (Oklahoma City), Kacera Puskas (Branson West, MO), Austin French (Jacksonville, FL) and Hope Hoffman (Hershey, PA). He was also blessed with 8 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Myles’ name may be made to Shephard’s Cupboard with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
