MSgt Charles M. “Chuck” Murrie

center-149x195-murrie-charlesMSgt Charles M. “Chuck” Murrie, 81 passed away September 4, 2016. Charles was born May 24, 1935 in Muskogee, OK to Harmon and Louise Murrie and was the eldest of three boys. In a twist of fate, Charles met and married, the love of his life, Barbara J. Villegas on December 26, 1953. They were together for 62 wonderful years until the passing of his beloved wife in May of this year. The couple had four children.

In 1952 Charles enlisted in the US Air Force and proudly served his country for 28 years. After retiring from the service he and his wife, Barbara, remained in Enid where they continued to raise their family together. Charles was an avid golfer and loved the challenge of the game. He could be found most mornings on the golf course at Meadowlake or playing a friendly game of card with friends.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara and grandson Shawn. He is survived by his two brothers John Murrie of OK and Kenneth Murrie of WA; four children, daughter Lesle’ Lehman and husband Paul of TX; daughter Lydia McCall of Enid; son Lance Murrie and wife Anne of OK and son Larry Murrie and wife Carrie of MD; five grandchildren, Melissa, Wesley, Skylar, Harmony, and Brittany; and nine great-grandchildren, Gabriel, Brayden, Elizabeth, Marshall, Annalyssa, Tristen, Ayden, Colten and Keyton.

Charles was a son, a veteran, a husband, a father, a grandfather, a great-grandfather, a friend and a good neighbor and will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. **We miss you and rejoice that, once again, you and the love of your life have been reunited…eternally.

A private family memorial will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation arrangements under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
