The homegoing services celebrating and honoring the life of Mother Jean Carol Robinson, 77, of Enid will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday May 11, 2024, at the First Missionary Baptist Church (467 E. Owen K. Garriott Rd. Enid, OK) with Elder Wilbert Kearney officiating and Bishop Designate Derwin Norwood delivering the Eulogy, burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. A meal will be served following the services at the Westside Church of God in Christ (1902 W. Chestnut Ave. Enid, OK). Services are under the direction of Brown-Cummings Funeral Home. The service will be a celebration of life and will be available to view via Facebook live on the Brown-Cummings Funeral Home Facebook Page.
Carlos D. and Carrie L. (Rich) Holt welcomed Jean to the world on December 7, 1946. She shared her birth with her identical twin sister, Judy. Jean passed from this life on May 2, 2024.
She was raised and educated in Enid, OK., graduating from Enid High School with the class of 1964. She attended Langston University and Enid Business College. She married Jessie James Robinson on July 25, 1969, in Enid, OK. From this union came one daughter, Anita Robinson.
She worked for George E. Failing (GEFCO). She worked at Wal-Mart for twenty-five years. But Jean truly found her joy when she worked in the jewelry department at JC Penney for twenty-five years until her retirement.
Jean was dedicated to the work for her church, (decorating, hostess, fundraising, Bible-drills, Sunday School teacher, etc.), you name it Jean made it happen for Westside Church of God in Christ, where she served as the Hospitality Director.
She is survived by her daughter Anita Robinson-Hixon (Patrick), and her granddaughter, Ava Jean of Edmond, OK; three sisters, twin, Judy Hunter (Delbert), Wichita, KS., Phyllis Holt, Edmond, OK., and Karen Holt, Enid, OK.; one brother Steve Holt (Carolyn), San Antonio, TX., and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Carrie Holt, two brothers, Dale and John Holt, and two nephews, Corey and Aaron Holt.
Memorials may be made in her honor to the Westside Church of God in Christ with Brown-Cummings Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
