Monty Gene Priest, 55, Enid, was taken peacefully to be with the Lord on July 5, 2015 after a battle with cancer. He was born on September 14, 1960 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Ruben Charles Priest and Leora Ann (Knox) Priest. He moved around the country with his family, later serving his country in the United States Army from 1977 to 1983, stationed in Germany for 2 years.
During Monty’s residency in Enid, he worked at Hackney Iron and Steel as a machinist and was a member of Garfield County Veteran’s Association and Commander of 40 & 8. Monty enjoyed playing pool, playing guitars and riding motorcycles.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette of the residence; sons, Gary, Monty, II, and Ruben and stepson C.J. Seven grandchildren. His mother, Leora Neeley of Tonkawa; two sisters, Kathy (Priest) Riley of Ponca City and Shurlene (Neeley) Milligan of Tonkawa and one brother John (JR) Medlock of Claremore, OK. Several nieces and nephews, two aunts; Margaret Rensberger and Bonnie Green, both of Alma AR; uncle David Priest of Raleigh NC. Monty was preceded in passing by his father, two daughters Elizabeth Priest and April Priest, one sister Linda (Priest) Crisostomos, two brothers Michael Neeley and Charlez Priest, two nephews Jeffrey Priest and Dakota Milligan.
