A private memorial service for Monte McClead, age 78, of Enid, will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Monte was born to Charles Heanan and Genevieve Hallie (Brannon) McClead on February 3, 1938 in Shidler, Oklahoma, and passed away on Friday, May 27, 2016 in Enid.
Monte grew up and graduated from Shidler High School. On June 20, 1965 he married Marilyn Burchett, and they made their home in Shidler. While he worked for Conoco, he was transferred to several places in the United States. In 1980 they moved to Enid and Monte owned and operated Utopia, until he retired. Monte then went to work for several years at ABF Freight Company, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Monte is survived by his son Jon McClead, and Terri Reynolds of Enid.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and his wife.
