A Celebration of Life for Mildred Sophia Maria Schneider, age 104, of Fairmont, will be 2:00 pm, Monday, December 14, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairmont, Oklahoma with Pastor Mark Blakeman and Pastor Timothy Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.
Mildred Sophia Maria Meyer (Frickenschmidt) Schneider was born March 11, 1916 in the family home near Fairmont, Oklahoma to Friedrich and Minnie (Meyer) Frickenschmidt, and passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2020 in Enid.
Mildred attended the Zion Lutheran School in Fairmont, and was confirmed in 1930. She was married November 1, 1936 to John Henry (Hank) Schneider at the Zion Lutheran Church. They adopted two children, Carol and Larry. After 58 years of marriage, Henry died in February of 1994.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Henry, her two children, Carol Colvin and Larry Schneider; great-granddaughter, Briana Schneider; sister, Laverna Murphy; brother, Ralph Frickenschmidt; and nephew, Jesse Murphy. She is survived by three granddaughters, Heather Ferguson and husband Roger, of Enid; Lavada Greenwood and husband Brandon, of Andrews, TX; Melanie Kerr and husband Dustin, of Lucien, OK; four great-grandchildren, Jocelyn Kirk and Toby Kirk, of Andrews, TX; Vanessa Kerr and Courtney Kerr, of Lucien, OK; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions in Mildred’s name may be made to Zion Lutheran Church with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
