Micheal Zarrella was born to Ralph and Betty Zarrella on January 11, 1957 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Enid, and peaceful passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019, with his family by his side. Ralph served in the Airforce, so the family lived in many places such as Japan, New Jersey, California and upon Ralph’s retirement the family settled in Goltry, OK. Mike graduated from Helena Goltry High School in 1975. Mike later earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from NWOSU. His employment history included being a park ranger with Great Salt Plains, Deputy Sherriff with Alfalfa County, Dept. of Corrections case manager with James Crabtree Correctional Center, Deputy Warden in Granite, and obtained his first retirement through DOC after 29 years of service with probation and parole and supervisor at a work release program. Mike then went back to work as an Enid transit driver before settling into NWOSU Enid as computer systems analyst as a second career. Mike retired a second time from NWOSU after another 10 years of service. He was a worker, caretaker and always gave to others. Some of Mike’s favorite pastimes were riding his Harley and hunting. Mike owned various Harley Davidson motorcycles throughout his life. He loved riding his bike with his wife Donna and best friends Dwight, Peggy, Mac and Linda. He loved his family, friends, and confidants. He will forever be taking care of others and watching over us from above.
