Michael Ray Burwell

July 13, 1953 - September 21, 2024

Michael was born to Dewey Dean Sr. and Lenna Marie (Bradshaw) Burwell on July 13th, 1953, in Oklahoma City, OK. He went to be with the Lord on Saturday September 21st, 2024, at his home.

He lived in the areas of Oklahoma City, Del City and Mid-West City while growing up. He was a graduate of Carl Albert High School Class of 1972. He married the love of his life Billie (Babb) Burwell on June 22, 1974, in Spencer, OK. With this union they welcomed their daughter Kandy (Burwell) Crites in 1980. The family then moved to Fairmont in 1982 where they made their home. In November of 1987 Michael helped start the Fairmont Volunteer Fire Dept where he was Fire Chief until his retirement in 2007. He loved helping people and coaching softball. Not only did he coach his daughter growing up he had the privilege of coaching his granddaughter. He was dad/grandpa to many and will be missed. He had many friends that were more than friends. They were his brothers and sisters. If you knew Michael, you knew that he loved his Ice Cream and Pepsi. If you asked him if he needed anything if was usually Ice Cream. He loved to go camping at the lake with his family and riding his motorcycle around on nice days. If he seen, you with a dog he had to tell you about his. Bonnie and Clyde. They were his two sidekicks whom he would share his ice cream with.

Michael is survived by his wife Billie (Babb) Burwell of the home. Daughter Kandy (Burwell) Crites, Justin, Waukomis, OK. Grandkids: Trayvonne of Hennessey, OK. Justus of Waukomis, OK. Cherokee, Tyler of Enid, OK. Joseph of Waukomis, OK Brother Dewey Dean Burwell Jr., Lola of Jones, OK. Sherry Burwell of Oklahoma City, OK and Numerous Nieces and Nephews.
Michael is proceeded in death by his parents, his In-Laws, Billy and Mary Babb, Brothers Mark and Gary Burwell, Sister Kathy Burwell, His grandparents. Numerous Uncles and Aunts.
A memorial service will be announced later.

Any Memorials can be sent to ACB Bank in Waukomis in the Names of Cherokee Burwell or Joseph Davis for furthering their Education.
