Merrill was born on December 24, 1930 to Charles and Maude Julian Huff in Independence, Kansas and passed from this life on February 28, 2020 in Enid, Oklahoma surrounded by his family.

He was raised and educated in Kansas. At the age of seventeen he enlisted in the United States Navy and honorably served his country in the Korean war. He was a 1st Class Metal Smith when he was honorably discharged. He then met his wife Carolyn Huff after he got back. He attended the Independence Kansas Junior College and Pittsburg State where he achieved his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He began working for Union Gas, a family owned company, before beginning to work for Standard Oil in Tulsa. He finally retired in 1987. He enjoyed reading, drawing, and was an amazing artist. Most of all he loved his family and had the best sense of humor.

He is survived by his children, John Huff, Tracy Langston, Susan Mirich, Jennifer Green, and Steve Huff, sixteen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and his ex-wife Carolyn.
