ENID, OK – George Pankonin won over 55% of the vote on Tuesday to secure his election as Mayor of Enid. Pankonin defeated resident Milton Mitchell and Ward 5 Commissioner Tammy Wilson.

Mitchell garnered over 29% of the vote while Wilson had over 15%. There were a total of 3,600 ballots cast for mayor. Mayor Shewey and Dr. Vanhooser totaled 5,157 votes four years ago.

Rob Stallings defeated Diane Levesque for the Ward 5 Commissioner seat. Stallings earned over 82% of the vote. He returns to the commission after have served as Ward 6 Commissioner at one time.

Pankonin and Stallings begin their new roles on the City Council in May. Joining those two will be Ward 2 Commissioner Derwin Norwood who retained his seat and Jerry Allen, who will assume the Ward 1 seat. Norwood and Allen ran unopposed.

Milton Mitchell - Born and raised in Enid, Mitchell is aiming to do more for the community by running for Mayor. Milton’s main agenda is to fix the streets of Enid by creating a Civil Engineering Department dedicated to road repair and construction. He is also in favor of discontinuing the Kaw Lake project and diverting those funds to building a lake and reservoir.

George Pankonin - As Mayor, Pankonin promises to serve the Citizens of Enid with Conservative values and provide Government transparency and accountability. He plans to restore decorum and civility to the city council and respect the will of the people. Pankonin would also like to limit government land purchases and activities to government purposes only.

Tammy Wilson - Issues that are important to Wilson are making sure Enid has the infrastructure it needs to support its citizens and their needs, continuing the progress that has been happening over the last ten years, and everything we can do to improve the quality of life for local residents. Wilson supports more retail, more quality restaurants, more entertainment options, and more industry that provides good jobs at good wages.

Not sure on the selection but it was very bad acoustics. I might have been able to tie into the board had I not been on Facebook live.
