The graveside service for Mary Edna Smith, age 89, of Lahoma, will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Meno, with Rev. Terry Chick officiating.. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home & Crematory.
Mary was born to Gerrad and Lucille Edna (Thomas) Dougherty on January 10, 1928 in Lamont, Oklahoma, and went to be her Lord, Sunday, February 26, 2017, in Enid.
Mary graduated Lamont High School in 1946. On May 24, 1947, she married Harry George Smith in Enid. Mary devoted her life to raising her children. She was a very caring and helpful person, but not afraid to show her spunky side, she was loved by all. Mary enjoyed working outside, and taking care of her neighbors.
She is survived by her five children: Larry Smith and wife Beverly of Tonkawa, Darrel Smith and wife Kim of Moore, Carolyn Burnett and husband Verlin of Lahoma, Cherlyn Carpenter and Marvin of Enid and Deborah Darby and husband Rory of Ferndale, Washington; brother George Dougherty of Lamont; sister Emma Woods of Blackwell; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry, three sisters and one brother.
Memorial may be made to Hospice Circle of Love.
