She was born May 17, 1938, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Graham and Pearl White. At the
age of 11, the family moved to Enid where Marsha lived most of her life. Upon graduation from
Enid High School in 1956, she married Jerry John Hager. They were blessed with three
children during their marriage of over 67 years.
Once married Marsha started working at TG&Y in downtown Enid until she became a
civil service employee at Vance Air Force Base. Her civil service career began in the
commissary, and later in the base housing office. When she and her husband relocated to
Illinois, she continued working in civil service for the Department of Defense on Arsenal Island
between Iowa and Illinois until her retirement.
Spending time with her grandchildren and being a “grandmother” to a number of other
children during her retirement years brought her great joy.
Marsha worshipped and served for more than 50 years as a member the Garriott Road
Church of Christ. Her priorities were God, her children and her husband, in that order. Marsha
had a strong faith, and always wanted to do what was right.
Marsha is survived by her children, John Hager and wife Patti, Edmond, Mark Hager and
wife Tere, Austin, Texas, and Shelly Hager Crumley and husband Chris, Kingwood, Texas; her
grandchildren, Jackson Hager, Joshua Hager and Corrie Hager, Austin, Texas, Sarah Crumley,
Kingwood, Texas, and Emma Crumley Truong and husband Kevin, Clarksville, Tennessee; and
a brother, Jim White, Moore.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Bill White of Kansas City,
Kansas.
The family indicates those who wish may make memorial gifts to Lariat Creek Christian
Camp at 94495 North County Road 2560, Geary, Oklahoma 73040.
Obituaries are posted, in part, due to the generosity of The Commons.
